It finally happened. Trish started having contractions around 4 that morning but the baby wasn't due for a week. By 2pm I got the call that they were only minutes apart and she thought this might be the real thing because "they were more intense". I dropped the phone and headed home, stopping along the way to get a beer with the fellas at a local bar. Just Kidding. We loaded up the minivan, dropped off the dogs and headed to the hospital.
Trish was soon admitted and within about 5 hours out came the Ava. Now there are some people who talk about the "miracle of birth" and I say its a miracle alright, its a miracle someone invented the Epidural.
God bless the epidurals and the percosets!!! And for the record, that whole breathing thing doesn't really work, it does however provide a great means of angering your wife as she labors through excruciating pain.
Well, here she our little angel is for the world to enjoy...
